samim,

<< my own CDMA kännykkä from Nokia ... Eric, you got your wish... around Christmas time "Qualcomm Inside"... designed by NOK, manufactured by outsource Telson >>

Not quite. My hand is hard to fit. <g>

First, I'll say that I'm very pleased that Nokia will be using a Qualcomm ASIC in their phones. When I think of handsets I think of Nokia first. I'm also very enthused about Jorma Ollila's recent statements about a stepped up commitment to CDMA. It is an absolute necessity for them in the United States where the 2 premier national voice & data wireless mobile networks are CDMA, particularly since by 2004, 45 to 52% of handset sales are projected to be CDMA.

Unfortunately it will be a while before I have "my own CDMA kännykkä from Nokia". I guess I should have said CDMA/GSM kännykkä, and that will take awhile. I currently use a tri-mode cdma/amps unit from Verizon to travel the US and a VoiceStream Bosch worldphone abroad.

My next mobile will hopefully replace both and combine my subscription to a single carrier (VOD Verizon).

Nokia? I hope so. "Qualcomm Inside" ... a must (unless Jorma can convince me of a better way). But someday for sure, my own CDMA/GSM kännykkä.
