Hi Mark > I have peace because I know I belong to God. But having said that, I know that at times when my relationship with God is not right, I end up sowing discord, not peace. It is a daily challenge.

Mark, nice quotes but very different from the truth:

This is what the Lord teaches: Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

When Jesus talks about giving peace he's talking about the peace he gives to his followers, he has no intention of wasting it on a world which denies him! Still have doubts then read another passage where he again talks about peace:

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart he troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14

Mark you are still under a false impression that a Christian is supposed to rub shoulders with the world and be at peace with it.

Chris

Hi Markus,

How are you and your family?

I was reading what Chris had wrote to you(at least the portion above) , and thinking about something.

I think there is a shoulder to be rubbed with the world. I think it is the shoulder that says "Young man, I say unto thee, Arise" <Luke 7:14>., I think it is the shoulder that says Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Matthew 11:28. Of coures I am speaking of Jesus the Christ as my HEAD, and as the body, I am to be a "little christ" or follower, thus my shoulder to the world.

For as surely as Christ has told me that I can rest because of HIM, I also can know that at the appointed time, He will say to me, " I say to thee, arise"
