All hail capitalism and democracy.

If by capitalism you mean laissez faire, I'm with you. If you mean what neo-conservatives and liberals call capitalism, I would argue that there is too much micro managing and interference for it to be called capitalism. It's more like a corporate socialism.

True democracy is mob rule. 51% of the population should not be able to tyrannize 49%. John Calhoun and Lani Guinier have both written extensively on this. It's too bad Clinton threw her overboard at the first sign of trouble. Her nominating process would have made for interesting debate.
