I suspect there are a other video adapters with this capability

The Nine Imagine 128 video cards as well as the Matrox MII also have virtual resolution capability. When the mouse gets to the edge of the screen more screen scrolls into view.

It worked well in Win95. The results in Win98 aren't that good. I believe the native multimonitor support in Win98 stomped on the proprietary capability provided by the video manufacturers.
