Mike,

It takes time to get those shares. I got an amount of shares "in concert" with Gizelle's amount. I don't know about him, but I trade quite a bit with them and have for 4 years.

They once mentioned to me that it's not the amount under management there, but the amount of trading and margin you have. That's what puts bread on the brokerage guys tables, not 10M, 20M, 200M or more.

Keep at it for IPOs you like. You'll spring some shares.

BTW, Gizelle (and I won't speak for him....) didn't really indicate he was going to flip it, but we were hypothesizing about if it was worth it to do so....

I got Q (QWEST) on an IPO from Fido in 1997, and the basis is now $5.50/share. I still own it.

I also got NXLK, but sold that way too early.

STLW might be a keeper, but we've got a long road ahead of us...

Have a good July 4th.

Steve

Michael, I'll ad my 2 cents' worth to SJS's comments on his post #123. First, I'll assume you're a Fido Gold Star account holder. So, as SJS said, the other, and primary criterion is how frequently does one trade. I'm not a day trader, but sometimes I think the commissions and margin interest I earn for Fido exceed my portfolio value. They pay a lot of attention to those earnings. If you have a substantial account but are primarily a B&H, you may not get many. And yes, I will definitely flip these in two weeks unless they've shown strength, in which case I'll initiate a stop-loss. Finally, when all said and done, you may be happy you didn't get any STLW!
