JD, I don't know why you dont' consider oil a commodity. IT's in the CRB so its' considered a commodity. The CRB Index is up 22% on a year to year basis. The S&P is up 5.96% on a year to year basis. Think back to Nixon years. It only took 4% inflation to cause wage and price controls. Greenspans last comment in his speech last week was. "In these circumstances, and against the back ground of its long-term goals of price stability and sustainable economic growth and of information currently available, the committee believes the risks continue to be weighted mainly towards conditions that may generate heightened inflation pressures in the forseeable future." On Jim, I guess he's like Mr. Cramer. You either like him or you don't. No inbetween. I think he is one of the brightest on Wall Street or is it Africa right now. Difference of opinion is what makes a market. T

JD,
I'm with you on Jim Rogers. Could never understand why CNBC had the guy on. He's been whinning about inflation on the rise since 1990, all the while the rate of inflation was in freefall!! Inflation may indeed be on the rise (as Rogers would say, I don't know what's going to happen with inflation), but if so, even Rogers, like a broken clock, is entitled to be right once in a while. Just like the analysts who have been short since 1990, sooner or later they get it right. Doesn't make 'em geniuses in my book.
