Dan, >Currently Exodus has no choice - in just a couple of months, they will have a choice. So what will they choose? And you think they won't be giving AMD based servers every possible opportunity?

Couple of months? When are the chipsets due out to support AMD based servers? When is a 1 - 2M cache CPU chip due from AMD? When all those are out, Don't you think you should add a little time for the server makers to develop the servers around them? Like at least a nine months? What did you say you do in the computer industry?

Hi Dan, RE: "Currently Exodus has no choice - ...what would you do?"

Probably select the most reliable, lowest cost-of-ownership product. They just sold $1.2B in junk bonds:

ALibiDan - Re: "Exactly why I wrote that I think SiS's integrated motherboard may be more helpful in gaining server business than an SMP board."

Just what does an integrated SIS motherboard bring to the Server party ?

SMP capability ?

If you're banking on integrated graphics, get yourself educated - Servers DON'T USE A DISPLAY MONITOR - except for possible occasional diagnostics - and even then that is usually done remotely .

A couple of months for AMD servers ?

Let's see - that would make early September - right?

OK - I'll bet you a Thousand Dollars that Exodus DOES NOT EMPLOY 2-way (or higher) SMP AthWiper Servers by early September.

Put up or shut up.
