Ausdauer,

First, maybe a SNDK/SSTI stock swap is in order?
The synergy would seem to be great in the combined company.

Sorry, that's way beyond my competence. Interesting idea, though...

Second, do you have any idea how SNDK's transition to 256Mbit manufacturing affects their ability to make 8 and 16 MB CompactFlash cards? I mean, do they just leave half or three-quarters of the silicon unused?

If 256Mbits was their smallest chip, I would think they would just discontinue the 8 and 16MB cards. However, I think that some companies save money by not shrinking some of their lines, and use these old lines to produce the smaller densities. I'm pretty sure Micron uses this strategy to make money at the low end. The older, larger processes are more mature and have higher yields. Just guessing, and again, my competence is being strained.

Aus - Saw Eli on CNBC a few days ago. He looked and sounded pretty calm and relaxed to me. Don't recall him saying anything about the forthcoming earnings. SSTI has said something.

Best regards,
