a fly-by-night tree man = Tarzan

Just kidding...

After the big ice storm in January '98, there were a lot of stories in the paper regarding "tree guys" and how to avoid the real winners. I don't envy you having to find a reputable company. The part about the liability is the same here in Canada. The homeowner can be held responsible if a tree guy falls and gets injured or killed while working on your property unless they are entirely insured through their own firm (which many of them aren't).

Good lord. We have a theme going on of people behaving very oddly.

That reminded me of the apparently perfectly normal guy my sister had a couple of casual dates with. He asked her to have dinner at his apartment and she accepted. He made a pass, which she rejected. He took her scarf, a very nice one I had made for her, and threatened to roast it in the oven if she wouldn't have sex with him.

I have a feeling I've told that story before. It resembles the fork story, in that neither the fork nor the oven seem the best tools for the job.
