Wily, I'm also guessing that there are many other factors, such as plain old manufacturing efficiency, which would give either SNDK or SSTI an advantage. I'm not sure that theoretical considerations weigh that heavily when it comes to actually producing these flash memories.

As to reliability, SNDK guarantees its flash memories for 10 million read/write cycles. I don't know if there is anything to be gained beyond that.

As to double density, an issue brought up in Eric's earlier response, if I recall correctly, the double density feature actually originated from Intel and was made available to SanDisk through its cross licensing agreement. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
