I heard Navarra's remark in person, and my interpretation was that it was more of a capacity utilization issue rather than rate structure. I'm not sure, though, so you may be right--obviously, QCOM structured the usage agreement in their favor.

I have thought about this a little, now: My guess is that the VAST majority of OmniTracs usage is position reporting. From the demonstrations I've seen, these are virtually instantaneous. Given that fact, it's not hard to get millions of uses from thirty days of 70-100 five minute phone phone calls.

Skip, I guess this comes down to "much ado about nothing" because OmniTracs, apparently, isn't going to be revenue significant. There are other remote monitoring possibilities out there, though. I posted a release the other day which touched on ORBCOMM's troubles, so there may be some opportunity in this market once G*'s long-term viability is established.
