oooooo...that is a pretty scary story, indeed...

Actually, it makes mine seem a bit less scary. At least in my case, there were some people around who might have come to my rescue (although I'm not so sure about that). Also, by the look of Mr. WWF, he could have snapped my neck in about 2 seconds if he went ballistic, so perhaps it actually was scary.

Mr. Croc and I had a very strange thing happen a few years ago, which just kind of goes to show that you can have strange things "happen" out of the blue, especially when you are in a familiar place and feel safe.<p>
We were on our way home from a nearby town when 3 guys sort of stepped out onto the road in front of us and made us stop. They were really big tough dudes and they said they wanted us to give their truck a boost because it had konked out. I don't think we felt that "unsafe" because there were some houses nearby and it was 10 on a Saturday morning. However, I didn't much like the looks of these guys.

Well, we tried to boost their truck, but it was no dice, so they asked if they could get a ride with us. We had a Ford Supercab, but the area behind the seat was just jammed full of junk for a goat show that we had been to the day before. The guys said they would ride in the back of the truck which had a cap on it. We said we'd drive them up the road to where we turned off to go to our town. They were very silent and got into the back of the truck. As they were getting in, I noticed that all of them had those weird little tattoos that guys in the pen do on their hands (at least they do that up here... funny little tattoos...usually between the thumb and index finger that look kind of like an asterisk...

As we were driving along, I mentioned it to Don and suggested that we take them to a point past our own turn-off so that they wouldn't see where we lived (because we lived along that road).

Actually, the whole trip ended up being rather uneventful, but there was something a bit amusing about the whole thing. As we drove along, I occasionally stole a glimpse into the back of the truck by looking in the big West coast mirrors on the side of our truck cab. The guys had the back of the cap open and looked like they were hanging half out the back... the reason for this being that we had just been at a goat show the day before and hadn't had time to clean out the back of the truck because we arrived home late the night before, so it was pretty high with the smell of goat urine and nanny-berries....LOL!!! These guys actually looked RELIEVED to get out when we got to the crossroads down the road past our place...
