Ausdauer,

I still remain confused on several issues.
Me too…we are together on this one…

I hope we now have some common understanding that SNDK does not represent a threat to SSTI's market AND SSTI does not represent a significant threat to SanDisk's flash card business.

I thought the remainder of SanDisk's manufacturing capabilities are dedicated to NOR flash. Eli addressed this specifically after the MOU was announced last December.
The D2 (double density) or MLC is NOR type flash. The agreement with Toshiba, which represents a major step forward for SNDK is for NAND type flash. Correct me if I am wrong, at least this is how I understand it.

I also don't see how SanDisk is "pinning its hopes" on SDMC.
I do. If SONY or some other proprietary system takes over at the expense of SDMC, (and other relative market factors remain as they are today), then IMO the risks in owning SNDK stock greatly increase. Given the market is forward seeing, I view SDMC as very important for SNDK. That is not to say that SNDK will not be successful without SDMC, but to me it is very important. And as you have noted, participation in the SDA is likewise very important, "to insure that its member companies have a hand in setting a new standard for removable memory so that Sony doesn't walk away with the whole ball of wax."

My most successful investment thesis involves bandwidth and memory and SSTI and SNDK both play well into this game plan without tripping over each other.

Aus, I need to go back into lurker mode and get going on more DD. Things are moving fast!

Good luck to everyone on this thread,
Eric
