To: Rocket Scientist who wrote (14146 ) 7/4/2000 1:11:05 AM From: Maurice Winn Respond to of 29987 RS, I don't think the information [adjectival rather than measured] from my secret source would come into the category of 'insider' information. No more so than Valueman's company contact information that he was misled about South African licensing and the company vigorously denied that there was a problem with licensing in South Africa. I can understand him totally abandoning trust in the company's words after that experience. Without trust in what the company says, the value of the business is punished pending actual facts. We were all given hugely more rosey forecasts of what the business would have achieved by now than what has turned out to be real. So the business is valued on a "What is demonstrable fact today?" basis rather than what is the NPV of the projections a reasonably-managed business would manage to make real. Which doesn't help with fund-raising and why we need to wait for the facts to come in later this year before raising more money and why Bernie was right to draw on the Chase loan. Anyway, waffling aside, I won't try to explain the use of the words dismal and encouraging because I don't know what they mean other than Canada has gone a lot better than USA compared with expected subscriber sales. We do have [somewhere] the figures expected and they were in the region of 120,000 or so for Canada, Australia and USA. I don't recall Mexican expectations, but I think they were would also have been given at some stage. I think my source is credible, truthful, law abiding and trustworthy. Also, very successful as an investment manager. I'm happy to lean on the advice somewhat. The reason people are shy posters is because as professional investors, their companies are unhappy with them participating in public discussion - we've had several people who used to post in 1996 and 1997 disappear from view at the behest of their legal advisers.
