SP - beware of some of these statements - no one here or anywhere else has a number that is remotely factual about leased gold. The figures are not published by the CBs or bullion banks. All we know is that the 15 central banks who signed the Washington Agreement agreed not to increase the level of ongoing leasing activity. Which I take to mean that if 1000 tons a year are being leased the level will not go above that amount.
