Well, I'm certainly going to fail the course in Bible history! I wrote KJV instead of Vulgate.
Does that fix it?
As for the maleficos- I was relying on my years of Latin- I guess they failed me.
I was amazed at the amount of material there was just on that ONE small phrase. I read for several hours just on that trying to track back the roots.
However, you obviously have a much greater grasp of Biblical languages than I so I willingly cede to you. My point was only that I thought without at least making some effort to understand the complexities of not only many languages, but many translators, we run the risk of doing damage by our lack of knowledge. As you have certainly pointed out to me!
