Re: The Involved Companies...

I think you're forgetting an important one: Jabil.

Remember that Gateway chose to use a custom motherboard it had Jabil design. Just for speculation, do you think they said:

(1) Jabil, we want a real quality board here, don't cut any corners.

Or,

(2) Jabil, we can easily go with XYZ Corp., unless you can lower the price of that board another $5.

Also, when was this motherboard designed? Since Gateway will apparently plug Classics into the same board, was it designed for the Classic, and cross-your-fingers-let's-hope-it-works with the TBird?

I admit it is unfortunate that these changing requirements of the TBird weren't broadcast early enough or loud enough to prevent problems like this one, and the tardy KT133.

But the end of the world, it is not. Here's hoping volumes of KT133 boards begin arriving this week.

Doug

Ali,

apparently failed to establish proper procedures to
evaluate margins of the design ..."

You're finally "right" on one, Ali ... Doesn't that feel much
better ?? Please remember to "wipe off" the screwdriver before
using it. <ggg>
