<<<<Now there's a color version - the Palm IIIc - which is great to look at, but has undermined the entire concept of portability. For one thing, it's heavier, weighing in at 250 grams, and it requires a charger, which is an added 350 grams.>>>>

And it's the best selling of the entire Palm line. And it will get lighter over time as the technology catches up with tastes. Anyone have this reporter's home address so I can send him some cheese to go with his whine? Happy 4th of July to everyone on the PALM and COMS threads.

Don't know how much this reporter got paid by Microsoft for LOL !

He likes Wince because:

<the handwriting recognition is even more intuitive than Palm's.>

It maybe more intuitive but he failed to say it doesn't work most of the time.

<to have your Microsoft Money, Excel or Word files transferred painlessly from your desktop computer is a real treat.>

Palm can do all of these too.

<You can listen to MP3 files, record conversations, and, if you've got an infrared phone or modem, surf the Net.>

You'll be lucky to get a couple hours of battery life if you try to do all the above.

<Also, Hewlett-Packard's Jornada 540 Pocket PC is sleek, with a razor-sharp color screen>

HP is recalling ALL Jornada Pocket PC just because it can only display 12-bit colors instead of the 16-bit color it advertised. This reporter is trying to mislead consumers into buying garbage other people are getting refund for !
