Dan, >why the heck are you inside on the the computer? The weather's not too bad here in Chicago, it's overcast, but that's better than the rain that was predicted.

Pouring rain and 52 degrees here. I lie. It's about 78, mabe a few fair weather clouds. Off to the Santa Cruz Mtns hiking.

Lewinsky-Dan - Re:"Too bad Intel was pouring its resources into money-losing dot com companies when AMD was updating its old FABs and building a new one."

Get this straight - AMD updated their Fab 30 to a copper process, costing who knows how many MILLIONS OF DOLLARS and delayed its opening by one year.

And what did that COPPER UPDATE bring AMD ?

nextdimensionhw.com

"AMD reports that there is no gain in performance in the Dresden processors, but that using copper interconnects makes processor scaling simpler.

Some UPDATE, Lewinsky !!
