That's the first time I've heard of Intel's dominance in X86 servers being being limited to enterprise servers.

Re: As for the 16-way L2, funny how that's hardly helping Thunderbird, even against Coppermine's 8-way L2.

I don't want to start another benchmarking food-fight, but Coppermine has a lower latency L2, which may (may! - something certainly is) be limiting scalability without providing any advantage over the Thunderbird in single user benchmarks. And more concurrent processes (server applications) should bring out the strengths of AMD's higher set associativity.
