I don't doubt that CDMA or WCDMA will become the standard as G3 comes on line. Almost everyone seems to agree with this.

I think it's a possibility that CDMA 2000 will but I don't think it's a slam dunk. I also don't think it needs to become the standard in order for Qualcomm to be wildly successful.

I heard that some businesses, such as NOK and ERICY, are challenging in European court the CDMA patent in regards to it's usage in some G3 WCDMA devices. The guys on the QCOM thread do not thing this holds water. What did you find?

Nothing more than what everyone finds who reads one or two Q folders and keeps up with press releases. I could have missed something but I'm not aware of any filed suits. A lot of people do expect the large possibility of a major legal battle about WCDMA, but this is not an area of my expertise. As a result, I have no opinion about it.
