Pravin,

AMD July 80 puts traded 2300 contracts. I take it as a bullish sign. Some big guy doesn't agree with the SSB guy, IMHO. Here is the link of the text of the SSB downgrade.

I think this dip will be very short-lived. We may see 80 at the end of the day.

Pravin:

Re: "From what I gathered from CNBC this morning, the SSB guy was mostly concerned about a slow down in mobile phone handset unit growth. I guess he thinks that AMD will not be able to sell its flash memory. What an idiot. AMD has signed a half dozen long term supply agreements for flash and is
completely sold out for the forseeable future."

Comment: Yeah...any AMD flash concerns are laughable as no "real" reason for concern exists today..as well, put in context of the 40% year over year increase in worldwide semiconductor sales for May, the slowdown a year out that SSB is (wrongly, imho) projecting, might be translated as only a 30% year over year growth...Silly persons who have jettisoned their AMD shares today on such "fuzzy-substanced" research!
