What really appeals to me is the patent protection on one of the three major strains of Staphyloccus aureus. That is not a very nice bug to deal with and resistant forms are cropping up all over. An effective vaccine would find a market both in the human and the bovine population. I can't help chuckling over their nicotine vaccine; it'll either be a dud or a blockbuster. My point on this company is that they are an almost pure vaccine play and I want to have one of those in my portfolio for the long term. Tex kept me informed about Aquila as well and I looked carefully. I simply chose NABI as the - in my opinion - more likely to make it candidate. Viropharma is a pure viral play and the technology is extremely intriguing. I know it's been knocked down, but that was because it was driven up based on a cure for the common cold. I'm not too interested in that as the cost/benefit doesn't look too good in most cases. But viral meningitis, RSV and HVC are in my opinion major targets and Viropharma is *focused* on virii. They have a lot of IP and a healthy warchest. I believe they will deliver something that is marketable. Moreover, viral infections are a serious threat. The fact that there is generally nothing to use for treating them also helps cause overprescription of antibiotics. The existence of good antivirals should help that. Not very scientific I suppose, but I bought a fair amount and I'm treating both as lockbox stocks now. Gliatech is another of my lockbox stocks and Incyte is about to become one. Please do not misunderstand; I am by no stretch criticizing your portfolio allocation. The performance speaks for itself. I was really just interested in your opinion. If I'd had brains, I would have bought your portfolio at the beginning of the year and I would be even better off now. But I just had to go it my own way :-( I still do, but I've learned to listen and watch a bit better :-) Thanks a lot, Torben
