Hi Mike:

Teligent and Winstar have only licences in the
24-40Ghz part of the spectrum. MMDS is not an option
for them. The writer did a terrible job-- the transition
from point to point to point to multipoint had been
in the plans for years (in fact TGNT was hoping to
use only P-MP equipment only). It is delays in the
development of PMP equipment that postponed the
transition.

Regards,

Bernard Levy

they got a national security act arranged when they gave up
18 GHz for 24 GHz and got wider MHz as higher up. LMDS PMP
is still spotty performance according to many. MMDS has been
proven 1 way PMP for a quarter century and official 2 way
filing window opened up July 3rd. TGNT has no access to MMDS. Will be interesting to see what BLS does now that FON
and WCOM breaking off as BLS has 3rd major MMDS footprint.
www.technologyinvestor.com has good August article on invisible fiber millimeter players.
