The wall of worry.... So while we eeked out an 1/8 gain today, that was a hard fought victory. 1 call from 1 (ok 2...I'll condescend to count Clark W, but TD might disagree <G>) analyst and the whole sector unravels down 10%? Chase H&Q, DBAB, and ML say their way to early to make this call at this time. I expect CSFB, GS and others to add to that trio tomorrow with statements on the incorrectness of the premature enunciation of the semi demise. They're plenty of shortages left, and the capacity coming on line won't alleviate the problems until well over 1 year, if that soon. Comments on this? I expect the morning calls to be positive. In any event, PMCS and BRCM (I heard, but have not seen the specific SSB report....) as well as the COMM chip sector were specifically excluded from the slowdown. Steve
