Jacob, unfortunately due to the BLS methodology we don't know where inflation really is.

the problem with the debt load is that already the rate of default among shakier credits is near a record, with the economy cooking on all cylinders. if there's a slowdown, the numbers will worsen considerably - that in itself will make a soft landing a difficult feat to accomplish.
