A news report today asks the EU to investigate why a coming Dutch auction of spectrum is being limited to bidders who want to use UMTS. This may be an attempt to break the European monopoly of spectrum and technology destined for use on that spectrum. The WTO may also be involved. As I've said before, I think most people are too worried about QCOM. The situation may look bleak, but wait till someone actually tries to sell a piece of equipment using QCOM intellectual property. That's when the s___ hits the fan!
