Curious Networks names Casey Cowell to board

CHICAGO, July 10 (Reuters) - Curious Networks, a private
technology provider that helps deliver information through
voice, wireless or other Internet devices, said on Monday it
named Casey Cowell, co-founder of modem-maker U.S. Robotics,
to its board.

The company said Cowell, who also serves on the board of 3Com
Corp. <COMS.O> which now owns U.S. Robotics, invested in the
Chicago-based company, but did not disclose details. Curious
Networks said it raised $3.5 million in its initial round of
funding, which includes the investment by Cowell.

Curious Networks provides technology to help companies launch
voice, mobile and Internet-based applications that are
compatible with all industry standards including HTML (Hyper
Text Markup Language), XML (eXtensible Markup Language), WAP
(Wireless Application Protocol), and VoiceXML.
