I don't own rmbs and have no opinion on it.NTAP,JDSU,CREE,BRCM are all companies with IP and without the mass adoption of their IP ,would not be where they are today.Qcom is a true CDMA gorilla and the size of the market that it addresses is much larger than any of the above mentioned companies.WCDMA is a part of qcom IP and will probably be settled through legal proceedings. It will not be the first or last time a company enforces their rights on infringement of IP in a court of law.

The good news is qcom is 2 for 2 so far in previous legal claims.

>> QCOM & RMBS are a different kind of beast whose success is solely dependent on their IP being adopted.

I think you're making a mistake putting qcom and rmbs in the same basket, RN. Rambus is a pure ipr play, while Qualcomm has ipr but also dominates the large and growing cdma chipset market. They derive most of their sales and a majority of their profits from this semiconductor endeavor. Qualcomm is one of the worst performers on the nasdaq this year, but that in no way negates their Gorilla status.
