NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Moody's Investors Service said it placed the long-term ratings of Micron Technology Inc. under review for possible upgrade.

Moody's said the review will focus on the impact of the DRAM sector consolidation and "whether it will allow a greater degree of control over the industry's historical extremes, in addition to the sustainability of the ongoing semiconductor upswing and strong demand for memory products that has been driven by the proliferation of computing and communications devices that consume increasing amounts memory such as the company's mainstay DRAM components, as well as SRAM and Flash memory components."

Moody's said ratings under review include:

issuer rating of Ba3

senior unsecured shelf registration rated (P, news, msgs) Ba3

subordinated shelf registration rated (P, news, msgs) B2

$210 million of junior subordinated noted due 2005 rated B3
