Mag,

Hard to bet against Tiger this weekend, from my local paper, St. Petersburg Times:

TIGER'S BACK: Tiger Woods returns to the PGA Tour this week at the Western Open, his first event since his stunning 15-shot victory at the U.S. Open.

Woods will be seeking his third Western title in four years. It was the first PGA Tour event he won twice. This will be his last tuneup before the British Open at St. Andrews, where he has a chance to become just the fifth golfer in history to complete a career grand slam.

"I've always played well at Dubsdread (Cog Hill No. 4, site of the tournament)," Woods said. "Even as an amateur, I shot my first sub-70 round in a tour event there (in 1995). ... There's something about Dubsdread that just gives me the right vibes. The layout sets up well for my ball flight. There aren't too many golf courses where you step up on the tee, and it just looks right. Each hole fits my eyes."

Here is one clue to Woods' success at Cog Hill. All four of the par-5s are reachable in two shots. In the past three years, he has played the holes a combined 29 under par.
