A friend of mine recently left AMD's flash group and joined Sandisk. I take this as a good sign of faith (or a bad omen for
AMD). Then again, his SNDK options are now 12 points in the red, so he can't be that smart. . .



AMD has most of its flash production sold under long term contracts. If the flash market really is near its peak AMD will still have strong profits from flash, however if the flash market continues its strong growth, AMD will be giving up the ability to charge higher prices and make even greater profits. Does Sandisk (or SSTI) have any significant percentage of its production locked in to long term contracts?
