Yes, I recalled at the time the fact that Corvis was one of those who did a stock thing too, but I couldn't recall the details.

On the other matter, sometimes there's no benefit to having routes that only go unrepeatered for such great distances. Yes, for those whose roles call for it, it's fine. But most high cap routes tend to have drop offs along the way. I'm pretty sure that these un-regenerated routes don't include optical add-drop muxes (OADMs).

If every route were 4000 to 8000 KM, no in in the heartland would ever receive any data. [g]
