So if you hadn't posted in a few days, you were left off. I've got a ton of feedback from the PM's I sent out earlier today. The main concern seems to be that this will just turn into a "rah rah" thread for AMD. I've gotten a few ideas for how to ban people. First of all, we need to give everyone a chance. Nothing can be held against those posters that caused problems on the old thread, they get a fresh start here. To ban someone, we should start with a one week ban, then reinstate the poster. If they FUD up the thread again, it should be a permanent ban. Appeals can be made to thread regulars via PM. If even a few people on the thread stick up for a poster, we have to let them stay. One thing that can't be tolerated is personal attacks. EVERYONE seemed to agree that the personal attacks and name calling is getting old. Also, most of the infrequent posters do not like the OT discussions the regulars would get into. I think this can be avoided, there's other threads to talk about the 2nd amendment, GW Bush, etc. (even I was guilty on the old thread). If a post starts with RatBrain, Doggie, AlibiDan, our little screwdriver guy, thejerk, etc. this just can't be tolerated. If you have a valid point to make, but can't do it without calling someone a name, you can't post on this thread. If anyone else has anything to add about the new rules, speak up now or forever hold your peace. Comments??? chic PS- I'm not posting anymore on the old thread, I hope others do the same. If we make this a good thread, people will read it over the old one, IMO.
