Ray- I hate to keep mentioning Alcatel, but it seems to pop up when I read your postings. Since I follow the equipment players fairly closely, I thought I would mention this. Just in case you or other FCTF regulars, did not know, Alcatel holds a number one position in the submarine telecommunications equipment market. I believe it's made up of mainly wet-DWDM systems. Apparently from what you posted, Corning is in this market too, but my guess is it's from the cable perspective only. -MikeM(From Florida)

Ray, There is an active discussion on submarine installations over on the sdli thread. Seems Alcatel claims world market share leadership and won the contract for the Southern Star system, and will be using SDH, not DWDM. Can you believe it?
