this is pretty ridiculous..the SSB analyst is early and trying to make a name for himself....the only interesting point in his "analyst" was the fact that the chip stocks tend to peak one year BEFORE the absolute peak of the cycle...

I think, though, given the multi-device scenario going forward...it makes a lot of the comparisons to the "only PC" warped and/or largely irrelevant...Calling a peak for this year (now) seems like total FUD

This is a cheap, cheap stock...I suppose we will have to wait until close to earnings to see some significant bounce again (CC)...I sure hope this won't be a dark cloud over SSTI for the year ("the peak is coming...the peak is coming")..even the SSB report hedged, and mentioned that earnings should be stellar for several quarters to come...

Last April, Steve Mulonivich of Merrill Lynch came out with a "nuclear winter" report.....claiming that storage companies (like EMC) were going to suffer big because of Y2K...it tanked the stock for a couple months....Of course, Mulonivich was dead wrong.....demand was great for EMC, storage last fall/winter.....no Y2K effect........but given there is no real retribution (when the analyst makes an outlandish, wrong call)....why not be bold? It gets your name out there....Milonovich gets as much press/TV time as ever now....and his reputation has not seemed to suffer...everyone simply forgot....

Hopefully, reality will kick in sooner than later..
