Unloading On Japan: Just getting back to the yen for a second, regular readers know that we have been keeping a close eye on the activity of foreign investors as a gauge of recovery expectations in Japan. Of interest, foreign investors were net sellers of Japanese equities last week to the tune of Y76.03 bln. In addition, excluding the holiday-thinned trading week of May 1, foreign investors have been net sellers of Japanese equities for the 13 weeks since March 13. As we have mentioned before, such selling has not weighed as heavily on the yen given that such investors have looked to take advantage of their concerns about economic recovery in the JGB market.
