Advanced Communications Technologies, Inc. - Announcement of $13 Million Funding Agreement with Ladenburg Thalmann & Co

Advanced Communications Technologies, Inc. - Announcement of $13 Million
Funding Agreement with Ladenburg Thalmann & Co

NEW YORK, Jul 6, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Chief Executive Officer of Advanced
Communications Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB - "ADVC") Roger May announced today
that the company had completed documentation for a funding agreement with
Ladenburg Thalmann & Co Inc ("LTOC") for two equity placements totaling $13
million.

Ladenburg Thalmann is a 125-year-old full-service investment bank and one of the
oldest members of the New York Stock Exchange, having been established in 1876.
It has five brokerage houses located across the country and its research
analysts actively cover more than 80 companies in numerous fields and monitor
over 200 companies. Since 1991, the company has completed in excess of $6.5
billion in public and private financing and approximately $10.9 billion in total
corporate finance transactions.

Ladenburg Thalmann has the reputation of being one of the premium investment
banks specializing in the small cap market stocks.

There are two proposed tranches in the placement with the initial placement
being for $1 million, which is anticipated to be funded before the end of July,
2000, and the second funding is for $12 million, with an agreed upon payment
schedule.

"We are delighted to have a premier firm like Ladenburg Thalmann show such
confidence in our company by supporting this placement," said Roger May. "Upon
completion of the 'best efforts' placement, the capital injection will allow us
to complete the acquisition of a number of previously identified companies in
the USA, and will also assist with the roll out and distribution of the
company's exciting new licensed product, SpectruCell."

SpectruCell is a "state of the art" multiple protocol operating system for
mobile wireless network products, that is well placed to become the primary
communications network operating system for all wireless communications
technologies in the 21st Century.

A SpectruCell network differentiates itself from existing communications
networks by being able to process and transmit all communications protocols
(CDMA, GSM, 3G, etc.), as well as the new wireless internet applications, all
within the same network.

"The companies that are planned to be acquired by ADVC will form an important
base through which Advanced Global Communications - a wholly owned subsidiary of
ADVC - will conduct test marketing of products throughout the Americas, which
are being developed by ACT in Australia," said Roger May. "I believe we are now
well on our way to achieving our goal of becoming one of the world's leading
wireless communications providers."

New Personnel

Roger May also announced that Mr. Jeremy Norton, who joined ACT (AUS) in January
2000, from PriceWaterhouseCoopers Securities in Australia, relocated permanently
to the ACT Inc. office in Irvine, California on June 27th, 2000. Mr. Norton has
transferred to the US to assist with finalizing several mergers and
acquisitions, as well as to help expand both the corporate and sales and
marketing infrastructure of ACT Inc. in the US.

His knowledge of the Australian operations combined with his several years of
business experience in the USA prior to joining PWC back in Australia, will be
of great assistance to ACT, Inc.
