The latest is the ON24 onslaught, which started Monday, and continues in full-force today as evidenced by their plethora of NewsAlerts today that "ORCL" is going fall further." Who is ON24? Another MSFT-fed online media operation?

IMHO, the bottom line of Ray Lane's departure is waayyyy overblown. I think as we move forward it will be increasingly apparent to some of the more ignorant folks out there, be they (1) financial news reporters: (2) unsophisticated "I really don't know what I'm doing, self-appointed" analysts at some really no-name firms; (3) or overly cautious ignorant professional money managers, that Ray's role was constantly diminishing over the past year, not only because ORCL was undergoing a tremendous change from its past practices in which he was the principal architect, but also because Ray wanted to step away, but only stayed on this past year to see the transition through at Larry's insistence.

IMHO, when the FACTs come to light, and the FACTS relating to ORCL's fundamentals regain the focus of the investor, ORCL's price will rebound to above-80 levels previously seen. But for now we will have deal with this backwash. I agree with another poster here that the SEC needs to step up here and begin to put a lid on what I perceive is irresponsible & unethical reporting.

I probably will retire before I get $2B.

Nah - hang around for 4B. 2B doesn't buy anything anymore. Its worth the extra 18 mos of work to insure your future.

:-)
