JW, Thanks for the schooling. At times I feel the same way.

I'm sure many of us do.

I've been avoiding the use of margin as much as possible.
However, it continues to beckon me.
Each time I dip into my margin reserves, I get bit in the arse.
I never learn. I get too greedy.

For my birthday last week, Datek gave me a Margin Call.
Those bastards love me.
Friggin' QCOM helped them decorate the cake and card they e-mailed to me.

Anyhow, I may cash out while I'm still ahead in my other accounts.

I'll sit back for a few days and collect my thoughts.
Maybe the Naz will deflate a little for me.
I'd like to get in on BRCD, JDSU, CREE, and SDLI.
Some others as well.
Too expensive right now...

Thanks for sharing your pain and thoughts.
There are many of us who feel similar to you but don't have the guts to post it.

Jim...

Thanks for sharing.
No irony intended either.

I'm not going to swap stories with you about how much I've "lost" since January. Damned near everyone I've seen post around here is down from then. Like you, I rode that margin trail hard. I went from feeling like I won the lottery to having, finally on April 17, to having to admit that I lost most of my stake. The subsequent days saw my productivity at work plummet, a new relationship with a cool woman vaporize, my friendships go neglected....etc. Can you say addict?

Then...a few fine folks from this porch stepped forward detailing their own setbacks. When I'd read that you had made and lost a bundle on two previous occasions, I didn't feel like my judgement so uniquely suspect. I won some...I lost some....just like many others.

Again...like you, and I suppose others, I went cash and started to take some small profits where I could get them. I set GOALS in the short and medium term for what I wanted. Margin use has disappeared. I've been sleeping much better.

You seem to be pretty clear about what decisions are right for you. I have all the confidence that you'll make more and more of them.

Thanks again, JW.
Schooling...
