07/05/00 ESIO : Coverage Initiated by Merrill Lynch: NT Buy/LT Buy $62.

ESIO will announce earnings on 7/11/2000.

06/05/00 ESIO : Coverage Initiated by Salomon Smth Brny: Buy $67.

Buying a strike near the money is probably the safest way to go. ESI will resist crossing $40, but when it does, it'll probably go quickly.

I'm in Australia, so the time difference is a killer. I thought we'd see a much better recovery right from the open, but we really got the hardest day to trade where it jumped practically to the high of the day and then back pedaled, only to finally close back around the high of the opening 15 minutes.

So, I just watched last night until I got too tired and went to bed because the direction was so uncertain. I do believe the company will have a good quarter. I suppose others will also. That should give you a base. It seems $40 is a low price, but then you need 43 1/2 to start making money with the option you mentioned.

I wonder how important the loss of that plant that makes the stripping agent for photo resist will be? It could put a burden on chip and that could pull down ESI in sympathy?

Regards,

Mark

Jerome, hope you bought those calls. Very nice day today, and I think we'll see it continue to trend up.
