I've seen the bonds/stocks risk comment on this very thread. No I will not find the posts. The important part of your quote from the CFA (why CFA?) guide book is "....this model takes the overconservative approach to an extreme " This does not equate to carte blanche. In fact, conservatism is applauded by American GAAP as well. Over agressiveness is what you should fear. As for P/Es, I doubt that valuations would last long with a csco p/e of 1000 but that's just IMHO.
