FWIW: The stocks that are making a run today are reporting earnings early like starting next Friday the 13th with PMCS and thru the 18th

No problem venting, folks here are trying to help each other.

I think you will feel a lot better about selling covered calls if you make purchases with the intent of covering them immediately. If the stock price falls, you can then buy the calls back at a much lower price and write the calls again.

It is a mechanical approach, it takes the "hoping for an upswing" out of the equation.
