HELSINKI, Finland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July6, 2000--Nokia(NYSE:NOK-news) has been selected to suck
hind teat if it does not sign a 3G license agreement with Qualcomm (NASDQ:QCOM) before the end of July,
2000. To date Nokia has steadfastly resolved to remain 18 months behind the industry in developing CDMA.
As a result it has missed all European orders for W-CDMA terrestrial equipment, all North American orders
for MC CDMA cell phones and has delivered very few CDMA cell phones world wide. NOK specialized in
manufacturing both terrestrial equipment and cell phones using the GMS standard and the TDMA standard.
