um, like a bank in distress, the bad loans are still being carried at face value on the mental books and the managers are hoping for a miracle to avoid facing the unpleasant reality of the situation. This spring was all a bad dream, no? Besides, the proceeds from this transaction were long ago designated as going towards paying off some margin debt; let's just say that the calls need to go up a bit more for me to get a bit more comfortable.

that's actually a clever idea, and perhaps I should think about it. But having ridden these babies up and down and part way back up again, I'm sentimentally inclined to dance with the calls that brung me.
