This is rather off topic, but about the oil politics, Saudi Arabia is indeed getting something out of it: military protection by the USA, which you could look at as real protection from the likes of Saddam Hussein, or more like mafia "protection".

You don't believe Venezuela is sincere? You think they want us to buy them off? This Venezuelan government is very nationalist, socialist, and anti-American. I think more likely they mean what they're saying.

Let's not forget a war was fought over oil less than ten years ago, and Saddam Hussein is not necessarily seen as the bad guy in some parts of the world.
