Yes there have. Several brown tree snakes have been caught at the airport, probably smuggled themselves in the wheel wells of military planes from Guam. Supposedly (like Ireland) we have no snakes (except poisonous sea snakes) but we do have a couple of long (6") narrow tiny limbless reptiles which may of may not be considered snakes.
We do have an open second floor. The dogs can go down the steps to the lanais and gardens as they wish, frequently passing the reptiles on the way up. We do have geckos, anoles. chameleons, and skinks throughout the entire house, along with scorpions and centipedes. The place is full of moths and termites and mosquitos. The spiders keep the mosquitos under control, and the dogs love the termites. The bulbuls are nesting just outside the kitchen door. Anytime you scatter a handful of birdseed you can attract hundreds of chattering Javanese rice birds (in their formal dress) along with the unavoidable Brazillian cardinal. We have a resident Shama, the most beautiful singer in the world IMO.
Nice place.
