JDS Uniphase Active in After-Hours Trading

Shares of JDS Uniphase continued to trade heavily in after hours trading. The stock fell 25 cents from its close of $114 on heavy volume. In regular trading JDS fell $5 to $114 during the day on volume of more than 40 million shares, making it the most active Nasdaq stock during normal trading hours. In after-hours trading the stock was the second most active, as nearly 1 million shares changed hands.

The maker of parts used in fiber-optic equipment could see its shares hit $175 before the end of the year as the company benefits from its acquisition of rival E-Tek Dynamics, Business Week reported in its ''Inside Wall Street'' column.
