That could be a real problem, or even a perceived problem (which then makes it real, nonetheless) from both a coordination perspective in dense situations where it's concceivable that you could wind up with multiple vendors crossing each other, as well as one of security.

Let me move this to the side a little, and expand. Not the kind of security issue that might result in stolen data or eavesdropping (although that is a possibility too), but one that would leave you open to getting "wiped out" by some unfriendly operative who wanted to take you out of service by shining an in-line interfering beam at you; or someone aligned with the reflections coming off your window pane just sitting there with a data trap.
