Elizabeth, a terminal mistake IMHO would be shorting TMI. The market cap is just over $27 million, far far less than anyone could set up their operation from scratch. The balance sheet doesn't (and shouldn't/can't) reflect the quite spectacular deal they picked up in Aredor.

Try: cdnx.ca

Sorry link wouldn't paste so you could just go to the www.cdnx.ca and select a detailed quote for TMI and you'll get a nice run down. I like using this cdnx link because it gives you a nice picture of market depth (both sides) on a 20 minute delay of course.

Hello Elizabeth,
As one who usually enjoys your comments and argumentative style, I've been disappointed so far with your efforts on this thread.

First... TMI as a short... I see potential upside of 30% if efforts to find an economic pipe fail and the results from the alluvial operations sour. Of course if they serve up a good/great pipe and alluvial operations continue to impress downside potential could be 300%...... so unless you and some friends are planning a coup over there I'd recommend against shorting TMI

Second... TRE.A does trade at 3xs earnings (as only 10% of shipments take place in Q1). It is true that most of their income PRESENTLY comes from acting as an agent, HOWEVER they have over 600,000 hectares of plantations coming on stream and a particle board mill which will be operational in Q3. So you can make up your mind whether this is just a brokerage company or not... personally at 3xs earnings I don't care what you want to call it.

I usually love your work, but I think you should provide some better attacks or find some weaker targets...

Best of Luck,
Crane

Yes, TRE does gather a substantial part of sales by brokering the chips. This is decreasing as the principal sales increase.

Still, 3x earnings - ya gotta like.

Thanks for coming by to liven up the thread, but I still think you are off the mark on TMI. RXD - there is one that has a long way to prove itself. Still, most thought WSP was a bit of a crap shoot - not De Beers though.

Cheers
